Meet Chicky - My Sweet Tripod Warrior

In October 2024, what started as fostering quickly became a foster fail. Chicky, a beautiful three-legged pitty dog, captured my heart instantly and became my best friend. Our bond was immediate and unbreakable - we do almost everything together.

Despite being a tripod, Chicky lives life to the fullest. She's active, social, and absolutely loves her days at doggy daycare playing with her best friends. She's been working hard on training, and her progress makes me so proud. Chicky is the sweetest cuddle bug you'll ever meet - playful, loving, strong, and simply beautiful inside and out.

The Challenge We're Facing

Recently, Chicky tore her CCL (cranial cruciate ligament) in her remaining back leg. For a tripod dog, this injury is especially serious since she relies heavily on that leg for mobility and balance. Without surgery, she won't be able to run, play, or even walk comfortably.

The veterinary costs for this specialized surgery are extremely high, and despite my best efforts, I cannot cover the full amount on my own. Chicky deserves to get back to running on her three legs, playing with her daycare friends, and living the active, joyful life she loves.
