Help Bring "The Heart of Art" to Life!

Hi, my name is ChiChi Roberts, and I recently made one of the biggest decisions of my life—I left my full-time job to follow my passion and start my own nonprofit arts organization, The Heart of Art! ✨ I’ve been involved in the arts since childhood, attending the Cleveland School of the Arts, performing at the legendary Karamu House, and singing with The Singing Angels. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Performance from Kent State University and am currently pursuing a Master of Arts Management at the University of Oklahoma, to be completed in October 2025. The arts have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and now I want to share that passion with children who need it most.

As an advocate for children, their wellbeing, rights, autonomy, and growth, I founded The Heart of Art to introduce children—especially those in underserved communities—to the performing arts through literacy programs. I believe in the transformative power of storytelling and the arts to empower and uplift children, giving them the tools to thrive both personally and academically.

However, starting a nonprofit comes with its share of challenges and costs. One of the critical steps I’m facing is securing the necessary trademarks to protect The Heart of Art across multiple categories, such as arts education, apparel, publishing, and more. Filing trademarks for five different classes will cost over $2,000. Additionally, there are Maryland state fees to officially register The Heart of Art as a nonprofit and other costs for charitable solicitation registrations.

I’m asking for your support to help cover these legal and registration costs so I can focus on what really matters—bringing these arts-based literacy programs to life for children. Your donation, no matter how small, will help me take the next step toward securing The Heart of Art’s future and making a lasting impact.

Your donations will help cover:

Trademark Fees: $1,476 - $2,276 to register The Heart of Art across five categories.

Maryland Nonprofit Filing: $220 for incorporation plus up to $300 for charitable registration.

Other Legal and Administrative Costs: Covering essential legal services to ensure we comply with all local regulations.

My dream is to create a community where children’s stories come to life and their imaginations can soar. The arts have been a lifelong passion for me, and now I want to share that passion with children who may not have the same access to creative outlets.
