My dream has always been to open a cafe, starting from childhood. I am not here to ask with help opening a business, but rather giving me the tools to continue my mission.
My car, Sylvia, currently is three years behind in excise tax and is also now unregistered. I use Sylvia to make money doing gig apps to support myself, as well as delivering baked goods in a 60 mile radius of where I live. I'm sure you're wondering how my excise tax got so far behind. My mail was going to my mom's house and we are no contact. The idea of dealing with her is quite anxiety-inducing.
I also need to get a new inspection sticker and possibly new brakes or brake pads. The cost to get my car back on the road is approximately $1k.
The other $2k will help me do several things of great importance.
-Register my business with the state
-Get Servsafe certified
-Obtain a permit to sell food
-Pay for several weeks of commissary
If I am able to complete these requirements, I can operate and be self-sufficient. My dream is to operate a bakery that truly keeps community in mind, offering sliding scale costs on baked goods, and offering agricultural skill-training to anyone who wants to learn how to grow food. I hope one day that I can make that happen. I want to create a community that strives to ensure everyone is fed, has shelter, and takes care of each other.
