My daughter, Cheyenne, is 16 years old and has just been accepted into the University of Northern Iowa. Even typing that feels surreal. She will be graduating high school early at the end of this year and, at just 16, preparing to move from Oregon to Iowa on her own to begin her college journey—either into a dorm or into her first apartment.
