Wanderling Care Family Daycare: Empowering Children Through Play, Nature, and Community
After years of teaching and working one-on-one with families in Santa Cruz and the San Lorenzo Valley, I’m excited to expand my practice and role in our community by opening Wanderling Care Family Daycare, a nurturing space where children can explore nature, build socioemotional skills, and develop confidence and autonomy in a thoughtfully structured environment.
I’m currently in the process of finding and securing the perfect location for this vision. With your support, we can make Wanderling Care a reality, and create a safe and enriching environment where families connect and thrive.
Our Approach
For the Children:
At Wanderling Care, we believe in hands-on, play-based learning that sparks curiosity and creativity. Through nature-based exploration, open-ended play, and socioemotional skill-building activities, children will develop empathy, self-regulation, and communication skills. By fostering autonomy through scaffolded age-appropriate opportunities for independence, we empower kids to grow with confidence within a gently structured environment.
- Empathy & Social Skills: Helping children engage with peers, resolve conflicts, and communicate respectfully.
- Outdoor Exploration: Connecting kids to the outdoors through sensory play and outdoor adventures.
- Confidence Building: Encouraging responsibility and self-care in a supportive space.
- Cultural Awareness & Inclusivity: Exposing children to diverse cultures, traditions, identities, and family structures, and instilling values of respect, kindness, and inclusion from a young age.
For the Families:
Raising young children can feel isolating, which is why Wanderling Care is designed to be a community hub. Here, families can connect, share experiences, and support each other. With clear communication and a focus on parental support, we aim to build lasting relationships that make every parent feel empowered and part of a supportive, inclusive village.

As a single mom, I understand the importance of finding a caregiver you can trust. Wanderling Care will offer the transparency, consistency, and communication that families need to feel confident and supported. With my degree in Early Childhood Development and years of hands-on experience with children (including those with developmental differences, disabilities, and trauma), I’m dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
