Hello everyone, I want to introduce you to Chewwy, my 3 yr old rescue pup from PAWS of Hawaii. Chewwy was born on January 6, 2023 into a home which was not fit to raise a litter of puppies. He was rescued by neighbors and later diagnosed with a heart murmur, making it harder for him to find a forever home. It took 7 months, but eventually he would find me and I knew that he was safe with me, he would be loved and care for for the rest of his life.
August 8, 2023 was the day that changed everything and everything became brighter, full of craziness, and full of adventure and laughs. Chewwy has taken over my life in all the best ways. He has a HUGE personality, he loves people and he wants to play with anything and anyone. He'll run up to strangers just to say hi and give them a huge bear hug. He is 75 pounds so sometimes he scares people, but he just really wants to meet you. No matter how much he's grown he still thinks he can fit on my lap, because he is my baby. But cuddles with him are the best. He has no sense of personal space, his big head has clipped me in the face a few times, and sometimes I trip annd fall over him. But he just loves to be involved with whatever I’m doing. He gets excited to go to work with me, he gets excited to see my friends and family, he honestly gets excited at everything. He just happy to be invited and loves to be present. Then one day, he just wasn't himself. He had no appetite, he wasn't interested in what was going on around him and he had zero energy. I could tell that there was something wrong.
On May 22, 2026, Chewwy was diagnosed with lymphoma. The craziest, fun loving, wild child of mine is sick. Chewwy is going to need chemotherapy treatments, medications, and regular vet visits with testing done, the oncologist is estimating these costs to be around $10,000-$12,000. I wish that I was prepared, but I’m not. I am asking for help to pay for these bills. I know this is going to be a long journey but Chewwy deserves a good long life. As a pet parent, we would do anything to save our babies, and give them the life they deserve.
Any amount to help pay for the treatments, medications or testing will be greatly appreciated. I can't put into words how much any amount of help means to me. I love Chewwy so much, and he has so much more joy to give to the world. If you ever get a chance to meet him, I know it would just make his day.
Thank you for getting to know Chewwy's story. Thank you for whatever help you can give. Please help spread his story and help me save my wild child.
