Update: the angiogram co pay is 19k
My name is Ocean, and I’ve lived in Curry County for over a decade. Some of you might recognize me as a friendly barista, but I’m also Chet’s daughter. My brothers and I are organizing a GoFundMe campaign to assist Chet in covering his medical expenses.
Two weeks ago, Chet was hospitalized by ambulance after struggling to breathe. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and left ventricular failure. This news is heartbreaking, especially since he recently remarried and was excited to start this new chapter in his life. Unfortunately, Chet lacks insurance and cannot qualify for state insurance. Private companies refuse to accept him due to his pre-existing life-threatening condition.
We urgently need financial assistance to help Chet undergo the angiogram he requires for treatment and gain more answers, along with any other expenses that will follow that initial exam. This could very likely include heart surgery. His condition has only worsened since the ambulance ride. He suffered a minor stroke on Monday morning, the day after Father’s Day. As a result, he now has partial facial palsy and dysarthria, which is muscle weakness or paralysis affecting speech production, causing slurred or distorted speech, or difficulty with voice control. He also has difficulty swallowing pure liquids.
Now, he also needs to undergo rehabilitation to strengthen those muscles. We believe the angiogram will reveal the need for heart surgery.
On top of the new medical conditions, Chet and his wife are also grappling with the stress of finding a new home. Their current rental is being sold by the owner, so they need to relocate by August 1st, which is also Chet’s 50th birthday.
My brothers and I are committed to securing a future for Chet, his grandchildren, children, and entire family. We are determined to provide him with financial support so that he can continue his medical journey and, hopefully, emerge from this ordeal with years of life ahead. Any assistance we receive would be invaluable to us.
