Help Support Chet Bane’s Fight for His Life
On July 2nd, 18-year-old Chet Bane was involved in a devastating biking accident that shattered his spine and completely changed the course of his life.
Chet was rushed to a trauma center in Missouri after suffering a catastrophic neck injury that fractured his cervical spine and severely damaged his spinal cord. He is currently fully paralyzed from the neck down. He cannot breathe on his own and is being kept alive by a ventilator in the Neuro Trauma ICU.
Doctors have already performed multiple emergency surgeries and are preparing for more. Chet is expected to receive a tracheostomy and a feeding tube in the coming days, signaling the long-term critical nature of his condition.
This week, Chet developed pneumonia—a dangerous and potentially life-threatening complication, especially for patients on a ventilator. His lungs are under extreme stress, and his body is fighting every hour to survive.
Despite all of this, Chet is conscious, aware, and fighting. His will to live is strong, and his family and medical team are doing everything they can to keep him stable. But the road ahead is unimaginably difficult.
Why We Need Your Help
This tragedy has upended the lives of Chet and his family. The costs of emergency surgery, round-the-clock ICU care, upcoming long-term rehabilitation, travel, and housing near the hospital are overwhelming.
If you can, please donate to help relieve the financial burden on Chet’s family so they can focus on what matters most—supporting him through the fight of his life.
Please give what you can, share this story, and keep Chet in your prayers.
