Help Chester Recover from Brutal Attack

I never thought I’d have to write something like this, but I’m reaching out for help after a horrific incident that has left my niece’s beloved dog, Chester, fighting for his life.

Chester is more than just a pet—he is my niece's best friend, our family, and my niece's source of comfort every single day.

Yesterday afternoon, while on a walk with my 12-year-old niece and a family friend, Chester was approached by two loose dogs. Though Chester tried his best to ignore the dogs, they nipped at him until he was forced to defend himself. Shortly after latching onto one of the dogs, their owner arrived and began violently striking Chester with a stick. My niece was able to snatch the stick away from the man, who then brandished a pocket knife and stabbed Chester several times in the stomach and ribs before fleeing with his dogs.

Chester was rushed to the veterinary hospital by the police who arrived on the scene. Right now, Chester is in critical condition and requires urgent medical care, including surgery, medications, and ongoing treatment. The vet bills are overwhelming, and I’m doing everything I can to make sure he gets the care he needs to recover.
