My name is Chester C. Farley, Jr. My dad, Chester Sr., was recently diagnosed with end-stage esophageal cancer and is under hospice care. He has chosen to live his final days on Earth in the home that he built for himself and my mom on the farm he inherited from his parents after they passed.

While it is tough to see my dad’s health declining so rapidly, I am honored to help care for him as he closes out his journey in this life. I have had to take a leave of absence from my nursing career at Duke to move to WV to care for him and have no way to financially support or help my dad.

We are hoping to raise money to replace his broken A/C units. The past few days, temperatures have been extreme and even with a window unit installed, the inside temperature is hovering in the low to mid-80s. On top of extreme weight loss, poor appetite, and severe pain, we are worried about overheating and dehydration. By raising money, we hope to be able to keep my “Superman” comfortable for his remaining days. Any amount given will be helpful beyond measure.
