help chess cover moving expenses!!

if you're seeing this you may already know me, but just in case you don't, let me introduce myself! i'm a trans gal living in the pnw. i'm a partnered twitch streamer and extremely part-time game developer. i mostly work on my own gamedev stuff as a hobby, but i've also worked on projects u love such as "undertale" and "deltarune".

and... i'm moving!! this is huge for me because i've been desperate for a change for a long time now. my physical health Really Sucks these past couple years. i have trouble moving around lately thanks to a tag team of a birth defect and a pinched nerve in my spine, and my current living situation is too cramped to make any significant changes to improve things. my productivity has taken a nosedive this year as a result and it's been difficult to envision a way forward. it's got me pretty severely depressed.

moving won't fix all that stuff immediately, of course. but it'll help! the new place we're moving has enough room for me to have my own lil office to focus on work, space for physical therapy equipment, and plenty of nearby conveniences to make exhausting shopping tasks easier on me. also, it'll just be my partner and i, so the entire space will be ours to use.

i typically make enough in a month from streaming stuff to at least cover my own bills. however, i've been a lot less consistent over the past year and fully unable to do any funny high-effort donation incentive streams, which means i've really just been staying afloat month-to-month without any ability to save. the timing with getting this new place is kind of unfortunate... we're slated to get the keys sometime early-to-mid-july, which means we'll have to pay both our rent at the current place AND the security deposit at the new place this month. i'm also moving out of a roommates arrangement, which means there are many shared amenities and necessities that i'll have to buy new at our new place. between all this stuff and the usual expected costs of moving.. Uh Oh I'm In Trouble!

now, full disclosure - as i said, i'm moving in with my partner. she has a less insane employment situation than i do, and i won't be Completely In Ruins if i can't cover my portion of everything. but... again, full disclosure, we generally keep our finances separate, and i really, really don't want to have to rely on her completely to support me through this predicament. something about asking my audience for help feels more like i'm using my own resources, i guess...? even if i'm still just asking for help.. ^-^; it feels like i need to try Something...

i thought about doing some kind of streaming donation drive stream series to help fund this, but honestly the idea of trying to put something compelling together under such short notice is stressing me the heck out. i've barely even streamed casually lately because the combined physical stress of Physically Existing and mental stress of Having To Earn Enough Money To Move have had me in paralysis. so... i'm just gonna try this, first. i have a lot of ideas for fun things to do and make, and i'm hoping that once i'm past all this moving stuff my energy regeneration will kick back up and i can get back to doing stuff for people to enjoy.

the amount i set for this gofundme is based on approximately 2 months chess bills, plus my share of the security deposit, plus a bit of wiggle room for Moving Expenses Various. this'd basically ensure that i can Freaking Relax A Bit during july and focus on moving and cleaning and less on how i am simultaneously going to scrounge up bills money in preparation for august.
