Help Cheryl’s Fight

Wow. We don’t know where to start, this has been such a whirlwind of emotions it’s hard to express everything going on. Some may know others may not know. If you were unaware please just know this has been such a shock and our mom just needed time to digest all of this information, she needed to be informed of everything, develop a plan, and really be able to cope with this new challenge ahead of her. She wanted this to remain private until she was able to really deal with this mentally and come up with a plan.  For a couple of months our mom had pain in her right breast and decided to get it checked on her annual mammogram. On October 2, 2019 they found a mass in our moms right breast. On October 3 they did a biopsy on the mass. On October 9th, 2019 our lives were flipped upside down. Our mom was diagnosed with stage 1, triple negative breast cancer. This obviously was the biggest shock of our lives as our mom was otherwise a complete healthy person. She walks 5 miles per day, has the healthiest diet, and was an all around healthy individual.  You may see stage 1 and think “wow that’s not bad they caught it early.” But when you dig into the details, the research. You find that this is the WORST strain of breast cancer. This strain is more likely to reoccur than other types (hormonal, genetic, etc). Her strain is not hormone related, it’s not genetic, it’s at the end of the day “bad luck.” She has grade 3 which is also the worst grade. So in short, worst strain, worst grade, but an early stage. They don’t know what caused this or what makes it grow. Since the diagnosis she has underwent a bilateral double mastectomy. She is a damn champion and has handled everything so gracefully. Of course she has bad days but it’s how she handles them that makes her so remarkable. She has an uphill battle to face but let me tell you, she has the BIGGEST support system and all the love to help her through. With that being said, if you know our mom you know she’s a woman that puts in 12-16 hour days to run her business. She works so hard to make sure her family is taken care of , her employees are taken care of, and to make sure everyone has what they need. We want her to be able to focus on her health and getting better during this hard time. As you can imagine the expenses of everything she is going through (double mastectomy, chemotherapy, reconstruction surgery, etc) is overwhelming. We are asking, if our mom has positively impacted your life in any way to please help her on this journey. It’s scary, it’s overwhelming, but we as a whole are going to help her through this. One step at a time, appointment by appointment. We want her to know that she has support from The east coast to west coast. We are all here for her. Please all know, if you cannot contribute financially that texts, emails, and phone calls go a long way. I can’t tell you how much love our mom has received over the last 8 weeks. I can’t tell you how happy it makes her to see people take time out of their day to show her support. And TRUST US. We appreciate everyone who has helped her on bad days and good days. Anyone who has shown her love and support, near and far. We appreciate you. Please consider donating to this fight. Our family would greatly appreciate it ❤️

Love always,

Shan and Steph
