My dear friends,

This is the hardest announcement I've had to make since mom died. I am in danger of becoming homeless by the end of the month if I do not take legal action immediately. Mom and dad bought the house in 1968. Sadly mom got behind in taxes in the early 2000s and predatory lenders took advantage. It has been a painful battle to hold on since her death. In terms of affordability staying here is cheaper then any apartment anywhere. I am a single woman with medical disabilities although I have tried to obtain full-time work with a livable wage. I've always hoped to fix up the house and take in another woman in crisis to share expenses. I've found an attorney who thinks he can help me (offices in NY and NJ) but his retainer fee is roughly 4K. All the public service things I do for our community are free. I would be eternally grateful if you could donate to helping me avoid homeless and save my home. It takes a lot of humility to ask for help at this level. Know that no matter the struggle I will continue trying to help others until my dying breath. I have no living immediate family thus I have adopted all of you as my family of choice.
