Help Cheryl Find a New Cello

My name is Mary Purvis and I play in the Big Bend Community Orchestra (BBCO) alongside Cheryl Fraizer. Cheryl is one of the funniest, most loving, and kind people out there. She is an educator and maintains a very busy life, yet still makes time to be involved and dedicate herself to the BBCO, even serving on the Board of Directors. Frankly, she is often the glue that keeps our orchestra together.

She has been a talented musician since she was a teen and the BBCO is so lucky to have her. She’s a hardworking public school teacher and media center specialist. She studied elementary education at Stetson and has played in the orchestra there as well. Recently, her beloved cello, that she has had since high school, was broken beyond repair. It has left her heart shattered and her without an instrument.

When you are a musician, your instrument is an extension of yourself, a part of you that allows you to express yourself through music. Cheryl has lost that part of herself and could use the support of her orchestra and loved ones during this difficult time. While her cello is "irreplaceable," she will still have to find another instrument that can suit her needs as a musician.

That is why I wanted to put this fundraiser together for her. Please show your support so Cheryl can find herself another cello. It can be a big expense, especially for someone on a school teacher's salary. Any amount of donation(s) would help and be so greatly appreciated! Cheryl is so deserving of a life full of happiness and music! Let's band together to get her playing again!
