Help Cheryl Fight AML - Leukemia
We lost our dear Cheryl today. She passed peacefully with Ralph by her side. Her Dad must have been the first in line to greet her on the other side because Ralph told Sydney that at the end, Cheryl smiled and said, "Daddy," and then drifted away.
She was a force of nature who fought long and hard and she has more than earned her rest.
The money that was donated to this GoFundMe campaign was intended to be used for Cheryl's transportation to MD Anderson hospital for further treatment. Now that she is gone I would like to suggest that the money stays with the family and allows Sydney to build a new life.
Syd has spent the last three years as a dedicated, round-the-clock caretaker and while she doesn't begrudge any of that time with her Mom, the reality is that she missed out on much of her own life. Maybe Sydney can use the money for school or to start a business or to travel and see the world -- whatever makes her happy.
Sydney was Cheryl's heart and soul -- I think helping her get a fresh start and putting her on a path to happiness is the greatest thing we can do to honor Cheryl's life and her memory.
