Hi, my name is Tabitha, and I’m fundraising for my cousin, Cheryl Crook, and her husband, JC.

On August 18, 2025, JC suffered a massive stroke caused by an undetected blood clot in his brain. He is now fighting for his life at SLU Hospital.

At only 46 years old, this was something no one could have expected. Yet, JC appears to be fighting hard - surviving even after doctors told us he would not make it through the first night. This strength is not surprising for us, though, as he has much to live for- especially with the recent birth of his only grandchild.

But we must be realistic with the fight ahead, especially for Cheryl, as JC is the main provider and she’s been unable to work since needing to be at the hospital with him. Family is rallying around her, but the need is great and will be ongoing.
