On December 12th, 2020, Cherie was hospitalized with a subarachnoid hemorrhage from what we now believe was a fall. She immediately  went into emergency surgery to have an external shunt placed in her brain and remained intubated and sedated until she “woke up” on the 14th. 

Cherie has made amazing strides so far, though her recovery will still be a long process. Her feeding tube was removed on December 21st, and she was able to have her shunt removed on December 22nd. She’s been staying strong and just waiting to be able to be transferred out of ICU and onto the Neurology floor. 

The financial strain of all of this will be more than Cherie can handle. As a struggling mother with five beautiful daughters and not enough medical insurance, I would love for her to just worry about healing, recovering, and returning home to her girls instead of worrying about the mounting medical  expenses.  Any help you’d be able give would benefit Cherie and her girls greatly.

 Cherie has a heart of gold and to help her lift this burden off her shoulders even just a little bit would be the most amazing Christmas gift to her.
