Hi, my name is Allie and I'm fundraising for Cheri Tamburro, a very dear family member who is currently battling cancer. While most of us were celebrating fun festivities with our family and friends over the holidays, Cheri has had to wrap her head around a very frightening diagnosis. While we were thinking of goals for the new year, Cheri was praying for health, hope, strength, and the ability to hold it together and manage to keep a smile on her face. Cheri is such a special individual, and truly one of the strongest women I know. She's such a beautiful soul and always helping others. She puts her faith in God, and it shows in her honorable and gracious nature. Since she has never been one who liked to be doted over or ask for a handout, she was obviously a bit reluctant to allow me to reach out on her behalf. While I didn't want to push, I just cannot imagine the incredible burden she must be carrying right now, let alone deal with the gripping fear in the reality of it all. She is so brave! The cost of fighting cancer is extremely expensive. She will need several doses of chemo, radiation, and surgery to hopefully eradicate the very large tumor that she has been diagnosed with. Needless to say, the pain has been unbearable. On top of all of this, she will need to travel from Pennsylvania to Georgia each time to receive all of these treatments. If you don't have the pleasure of knowing this incredible woman, I'll share just a little bit about her. She has the ability to roll up her sleeves in a tough situation and find the positive during any negative circumstance. She sees the possible in the impossible, and loves to laugh! She loves being outdoors, enjoying nature, and has mad baking skills! She is a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, family member, and friend. She has a beautiful daughter and two sons, both of whom have served in the military. She is also a teacher of early childhood and elementary education, specifically working with children having special needs. She has not for one minute let her diagnosis take away from what her responsibilities are to her family and those she serves teaching. Even completely depleted from the initiation of chemo, she continually shows up with an amazing, determined, and courageous spirit. Her talent, patience, understanding, and caring nature have a very special place in this world and must continue on. Please consider helping her relieve just some of the financial burden so that she can focus on getting well. We are all eager to see her beat this horrible disease. Right now when there is not much else we can do but pray, your support, no matter how little,  can help in a big way, and I know it would mean so much to her.
