Hi lovely human!

UPDATE:

Woweeee, yowza, and holy guacamole - I am totally blown away by the incredible outpouring of kindness, care, and generosity here and on FB!!! Infinite appreciation doesn’t even begin to touch on the depth of my gratitude. Just WOW!

AND a dear friend has now talked me into increasing my goal, because, in all honesty, while my lawyer and I remain optimistic, we really don’t know for sure if or when disability will kick in. Since my very thick wall of resistance to reaching out took some serious time and work to break through, I sincerely hope to never have to start a Go Fund Me again. So, I am taking yet another slooooow deep breath in and out and raising the amount. Thank you thank you thank you for your help!!! (If you are new here, read on for the deets . . . )

In short: I’m in a jam and could really use some financial assistance with bills until disability kicks in.

In less-short!: Welp, I’m alive and kicking - wooohoo! But it’s been a rather bumpy road to recovery and slow as moooooolasses. It’s super challenging to ask, but I could really use your help. Every little bit helps and would mean the world to me - truly!

“What the heck happened?!”

Unfortunately, I have been unable to work since a car accident in July of 2023. I’m still pretty sensitive to the trauma of this incident, so please refrain from asking for deets - thanks. At my doctor's suggestion, I filed for disability in March of 2024 and am currently awaiting a decision. The lawyer representing my case feels hopeful that my claim will be awarded - hopefully in the next few months. In the meantime, however, I've exhausted all of my funds and could use some assistance.

PS: If you would like to know more about my current health status, here’s a summary:

I have four bulging discs (three cervical, one thoracic) with pinched nerves, resulting in constant head/neck/back/shoulder, arm pain. (Baseline pain lives at a 6/7 out of 10 and flares go up to 8.5/9, where I am completely incapacitated - sitting in the dark, with a barf bucket, ugh.) With extreme light sensitivity, looking at screens (computer/phone) aggravates the pain and any interaction with screens during a flare is impossible. I have yet to locate a Neurosurgeon who takes OHP or find a medication that works on nerve pain.

In addition to the above, in the next few months I will undergo a hysterectomy to remove numerous fibroids and have abdominal surgery to repair a large hiatal hernia. I’ve also been navigating frequent illness, due to a weakened immune system from all of the stress.
