Chelseay was involved in a tragic car accident in February 2023, during which she was pronounced dead after her brain was without oxygen for over 20 minutes. By God’s amazing grace, she was resuscitated on the way to the hospital. Doctors explained that her brain was swollen and that some brain cells had died during those critical minutes, resulting in an anoxic brain injury, and they warned us her brain would not return to normal. After several weeks, the swelling subsided, and Chelseay spent three weeks in the ICU before being transferred to long-term care facilities.
As of September 2024, Chelseay reached a major milestone when her tracheostomy was removed. She remained on the lowest level of oxygen for three weeks while being closely monitored, gradually spending short periods off oxygen until, within two months, she was breathing completely on room air. She continues her healing journey through intensive therapies at Rancho Los Amigos, where consistent stimulation and care have played a critical role in her progress. After extensive therapy and guidance from her medical team, the next and most time-sensitive step in Chelseay’s recovery is stem cell treatment.
Stem cell therapy has shown promising results for individuals with injuries like Chelseay’s, but it is costly and not covered by insurance. Doctors believe that because Chelseay has already received significant stimulation through EMS and therapy, this treatment could be especially impactful if started as soon as possible. Time is critical, and delays could mean missed opportunities for further healing and regained independence. This is why we are urgently asking for your help today. Your donation—no matter the amount—will directly help Chelseay access this life-changing treatment and continue fighting for her recovery. Our family’s faith has remained strong throughout this journey, and we trust that God is working through every person who feels called to support Chelseay. We believe Jesus will continue to heal her as a beloved child of God. May God bless you abundantly, and thank you for standing with us during this critical time.
