Help Chelsea Heal and Get Back on Her Feet

Hi! A lot of you may already know me but for those of you who do not, I am a close friend of our dear Chelsea. To say this girl has seen some better days is an understatement. But in true Chelsea fashion, she would never ask for help no matter how rough things get.

Christmas Eve of 2024, she had hip surgery, requiring a minimum of a 8-12 week recovery period which SHOULD have kept her out of work until she was fully recovered but as luck would have it, she would be forced to return before that time period, and in which she re-injured the same hip slipping on ice. Upon her return to a job that she absolutely loved she was wrongly terminated and then denied unemployment.

Fast forward 5 months and I’m sitting in the parking lot of the same surgery center writing this waiting for surgery #2 to be over. This means another 8-12 weeks of recovery, which includes all the standards, including non-weight bearing, no driving, no bending etc. It’s complicated even more by the fact that she has no source of income and can’t even look for a job in her field until she is fully recovered. She starts the clinical aspect of her Nursing Degree in August and really needs to focus on healing fully, since this has been her dream. She and I joked about a Go Fund Me, months ago because of this perpetual black cloud that keeps following her, because not only has she been plagued with health issues on top of losing her job, but thing after thing just keeps happening just when she seems to get her head above water, and it’s really not a laughing matter anymore.

Anyone who knows Chelsea would say no one is more deserving of a good deed or help if needed. She is by far the most selfless human I’ve ever met and would go any length possible to help someone she loves even if it means she struggles. It’s deeply personal for me because she’s literally saved my life and has been one of the best, most consistent humans I’ve ever encountered. Any little bit helps.
