Help Chelsea Find Answers for Her Health

My name is Chelsea Brown, and I am a wife and stay-at-home mom to our 12-year-old son and foster mom to babies needing a loving place to land during their difficult times.

In 2015, I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension that was caused by an undetected ASD (hole in my heart at birth). During the last 10 years, I have been on countless medications, including 8 and a half long years on a 24/7 IV infusion. I’ve always done fairly well managing our lifestyle and my health without many setbacks.

That is until December of last year (2024). During which I spent a week in IU Methodist in Indianapolis working to correct an issue of over-medication that was causing me lots of issues. After working hard to lose weight, my medications needed some major adjustment.

After coming home in December, we got on the right track and would be able to go back to life as normal. Or so we thought. In January 2025, I started experiencing intense and unmanageable night sweats with random sporadic fevers. I talked to many of my doctors and specialists with no real answers. So we pushed forward all while caring for our family and an amazingly sweet 1-year-old foster baby that’s been with us since April 2024, and also welcoming the chunkiest month-old bundle of joy home from the hospital.

But the fevers and night sweats continued, became much more frequent and even worsened. So finally, on March 16, we went back to Methodist Hospital and we pushed for answers. I was admitted to the critical care heart unit where I spent the next 2 and a half weeks going through every test imaginable while also seeing more than 6 specialists each day. Only to be told they could not find an answer to my problems. So with a fever and a dose of Tylenol and one doctor's whispered advice to seek a second opinion at the Cleveland Clinic, we were sent home. More hopeless than I’ve ever felt leaving the hospital, I went home hoping I’d feel better with time. But instead, the opposite happened. I started to have low blood pressures, high heart rates, and even higher fevers.

We are to the point now that I’ve decided that as a 34-year-old mom who has years of life left in her, I can’t sit around and wait for my health to get better on its own. So with that, we are headed to the Cleveland Clinic with the prayer that some of the world's best doctors will be able to look at my medical history and find an answer to all of my problems so I can go back home and spend my days cuddled up to my husband and our babies.

If you’ve read this long, first I’d like to both thank and applaud you. Secondly, and most importantly, I would like to ask you to please pray and send all the positive thoughts to not only myself and my family but to my medical staff as well. And lastly, if you are able, we are asking for help to cover the expenses of Clint missing work to be with me, gas to and from the hospital countless times, Clint’s hotel stays to remain close to me, and the expense of food during my stay. Any little bit helps and is appreciated more than I will ever be able to put into words.
