Help Chef Venoy Rogers III Fight Stage 3 Colon Cancer
Donation protected
On June 16, 2024, Venoy woke up with severe stomach pain and ended up in the emergency room. Doctors found a huge mass blockage in his colon and rushed Venoy up by ambulance to the University Hospital Seidman Cancer Center where he stayed for five painful weeks.
After several scans, blood work, a colonoscopy, and an NG tube, he underwent surgery (laparoscopic converted to open right hemicolectomy with diverting loop ileostomy) on 7/2/2024 for a T4 N1 Colon Cancer.
The diagnosis received after undergoing surgery:
Surgical resection margins are negative
Positive for lymphatic, extramural venous and perineurial invasion. Metastic adenocarcinoma in three out of twenty-one lymph nodes.
Venoy still has a long battle to go starting with six months of chemotherapy. After chemo he will be undergoing ostomy reversal surgery.
Venoy has been receiving treatment at the University Hospital Seidman Cancer Center which is ranked 39th in the U.S. for cancer treatment. The Rogers family feels very blessed for the amazing team of medical professionals and their outstanding care throughout this journey. This hospital is a bit of a drive for the family but they have been going back and forth for treatment.
Many people have reached out to ask what they can do to help. The Rogers family is humbly asking for donations towards medical bills and medical supplies. For some perspective, just one of the medications Venoy has needed most recently for his low white blood cell count each week during chemotherapy costs them over $6,000 per dose. Please consider donating to the Rogers family to help relieve some of the burden and stress of medical bills. We also ask that you keep the Rogers family in your prayers for Venoy's strength to keep up the good fight during his intensive chemotherapy and surgery.
