Help Chef Mark Miskiewicz get back on his feet
Donation protected
Chef Mark Miskiewicz has spent years feeding OC, helping people, employing & training dozens, and generally just making people happy! Mark is well-known and respected throughout SoCal and beyond ... but those years of serving others took a huge toll.
In late September 2020, Mark had a catastrophic and immediate health failure landing him in the Intensive Care Unit. He ended up with 3 spinal surgeries (which nearly resulted in paralysis ... but didn't!), 2 torn meniscus, degenerative arthritic condition, sepsis along the spine, diabetes, and more.
Mark was in hospitalized for 3+ weeks, much of the time in the ICU. He now has 2 titanium rods and screws in his back. His motion is severely limited, and Mark will not be able to serve in a kitchen again for months ... if ever. He can't lift, bend down, nor even twist his body.
As his friend, he has helped me many, many times. Now it's my chance to help Mark get back on his feet. Mark needs the basic funds to get his strength back and recover for at least the next 3 months -- including assistants to even move, physical therapists, and the essentials like a dozen medications, health insurance, food and rent. (Not to mention his outstanding medical bills.)
It's URGENT that he receives help to get him through this time period.
Meantime, Mark is figuring out what's next. He's already planning content to help diabetics prepare food that meets their requirements, and that is simple to prepare and delicious. He's looking at the ideas of coaching, menu consulting, and instructional videos.
Mark needs your donations to get through the most difficult time in his life. Please help however you can.
- Jason Niedle
PS: When Mark is back on his feet, he'll do his best (health dependent, of course) to return the favor, and he is actively seeking any and all offers of work that can benefit from his vast catering / executive cheffing experience. But first ... health! Please help, thank you!!

NOTE: As of early November, Mark is in good spirits and recovering at home, with a huge learning curve, neck/back pain, physical therapy, and many life-changes to process. Thank you in advance for supporting him!!
