Hola! Mi nombre es Leonor Pinedo y hoy quiero pedir tu ayuda. Mi hermano Eloy Leonardo sufrió un grave accidente mientras conducía su moto el pasado 10 de Agosto de este año. Desafortunadamente, una persona cometió una infracción de tránsito y lo golpeó fuertemente en su cabeza y todo la parte derecha de su cuerpo, comprometiendo su brazo, muñeca, rodilla y tobillo.

Cuando Leonardo ingresó al hospital, fue atendido de emergencia debido a un trauma intracraneal severo que pudo ser atendido a tiempo. Su cerebro sufrió un gran daño y necesitó cirugía para descomprimir y evacuar sus hemorragias craneales. Adicionalmente, ha necesitado soporte ventilatorio y un tubo de alimentación para poder sobrevivir.

Hasta ahora ya han sido cinco las operaciones que han realizado y aún necesita otra más en su rostro. A pesar de que Eloy Leonardo fue un conductor prudente y llevaba su casco, el impacto más fuerte lo recibió en su cabeza. Debido a esta lesión y a sus múltiples otras, el pronóstico de mi hermano no es muy alentador. Leo necesitará de un proceso largo de rehabilitación y el tiempo total de recuperación según los médicos puede sobrepasar aún el año. Sabemos que con la ayuda de Dios y de todos los que lo amamos, este tiempo será más corto y que seguramente podrá retomar el curso normal de su vida.

Sumado a todos los daños que sufrió mi hermano, está el hecho que la persona que causó este accidente no contaba con un buen seguro vehicular. La póliza de Eloy Leonardo tampoco cubre los daños. Los seguros privados de salud no ayudan en estos casos. Los gastos médicos de mi hermano van a ser muy altos debido a la complejidad de sus lesiones. Los recursos son pocos y el cubrimiento de las pólizas no es suficiente.

Chef Leo, como muchos lo conocen es una persona muy sensible, buen hijo, buen padre, buen hermano y excelente amigo. Siempre busca hacer reír a los demás, es muy sociable, apasionado por el deporte y por su talento culinario. El mejor chef que conozco y sé que muchos de ustedes estarían de acuerdo conmigo en esto. Un eterno enamorado de su hija Mila, quien también tiene mucho de su personalidad. MiIa con tan solo cuatro años de edad sufre mucho la ausencia de su papá, constantemente pregunta por él y dice extrañarlo. Mi hermano siempre ha hecho lo que sea necesario para que ella se sienta feliz.
