Help Chef Lei restore Oleis

Hello, my name is Elisha/Lei chef and owner of Oleis Island Fusion Cuisine located in Emeryville CA. Over the last ten years, I’ve worked extremely hard to achieve my dream of owning a restaurant. After having my daughter and being a single mother I knew I had to work harder. I am fortunate that God has blessed me with culinary skills, determination, drive, and ambition to make that dream come true.

Unfortunately, a few months ago my life started to take an unexpected turn. I was put in a tough place and decided to give up my apartment to keep the restaurant afloat, being that I do not qualify for any business loans or grants since the business wasn't established until January 2021. After taking a total loss on my only vehicle, four days after purchasing a replacement I was carjacked early in the morning before heading to the bank and work. In my car was a week's worth of deposits, all of my identification, and catering equipment. Trying to take a moment to grieve the loss of my father who passed away on 8/11/21. An unidentified man broke into the restaurant in the middle of the night and stole numerous valuables and property, amounting to over $10,000 in value.

With one unfortunate event after another, I had to close down Oleis until I could get back on track with a strong team and the right funds. These funds will go towards helping fulfill my obligation to the last three months of my lease and a deposit for a smaller location. This is so I don't lose everything that I've put my blood, sweat, tears, and dedication into. As well as help me get back on my feet with hopes to find a new home and vehicle for me and my baby.
