Help Chef Bananas and Family Through Crisis

Fellow magicians are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Chad Jacobs, known to most as Chef Bananas. Chad has been performing magic for more than 30 years, brightening the lives of children and adults alike with a unique combination that also incorporates music, comedy, dancing, and illusions. In 2017, he became a full-time performer known as Chef Bananas as he is also a certified sweet fruit culinarian.

Chad’s family received devastating news in March when he was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal junction cancer. He’s currently receiving intensive chemotherapy treatment through a bi-weekly infusion and is also participating in a clinical trial that’s shown promise. Chad’s recent CT scan revealed that treatment is working well to shrink the cancer. However, at stage 4, there is no real cure.

Since his diagnosis, Chad has had to pass on his shows to other performers, resulting in a 70 percent loss of the family’s income. Anyone who has undergone cancer treatment understands how unpredictable the treatments make you feel, leaving Chad with no other honorable choice.

This fundraiser will help cover the expensive medical treatments and day-to-day living costs, like childcare, housing, meals, and transportation, that Chad and his family are facing.

Chad lives in St. Louis, Missouri, with his wife, Dana, and two young daughters, Amelie (11) and Aria (8). Your support can make a significant difference in their lives during this challenging time.
