The Godwin family has been profoundly affected by the recent wildfires that have devastated their community of Altadena, CA. While their home is still standing, it has suffered significant smoke damage and has been rendered uninhabitable. They’ve been under mandatory evacuation since January 7th, and they have no clarity about when it will be safe for them to go back home.

Unfortunately, despite the heroic efforts of first responders and incredible neighbors, their neighborhood remains under threat, with lingering gas leaks and the potential for high winds to reignite fires or spread further damage. The toxic ash poses a significant and long-term health hazard, which may take years to mitigate. The uncertainty and ongoing danger have left families like the Godwins in an incredibly vulnerable position.

Chauncy and Libby, along with their two beautiful children, Maasai and N'Dea, are doing their best to stay strong, but the strain of displacement and uncertainty is overwhelming. They need our support now more than ever; your donation will help ease their immediate burden and it will also remind them that they are not alone in this difficult time.
