Help Chastity Get Back on the Road

Hello all, When I was in public affairs for the US Army Reserve, we used to have a theme of trying to make a difference with the stories we wrote and published about the Army Reserve. It was important to be the catalyst for change even if it was a small change for the better. Now that I have retired from the Army I still work a part time job or two to stay busy. I worked at an auto body shop for a while and learned some good car repair techniques, but chose not to have it as my career because of things I discovered about the industry I didn’t like. Now I work at a department store part time and drive for Lyft. I work with a woman at the department store named Chastity who needs your help. Chastity is 44 years old, and has three older children who live away from her location. She survived domestic violence, divorce, and homelessness and other things in the recent past and is resilient, but not quite back on her feet yet. She has been without a car since 2015 primarily riding the bus when possible. However most of the time she must take an Uber home from work as she closes the store late into the evening getting to her meager one-room shack around midnight. She spends much of her income on rideshares as she works as an assistant manager at the department store which is 15 miles away. If we could come together to help, I could buy a car at an insurance auction that was in an accident and still runs, and fix it up for her to drive. I have done this over eight times with auction cars for my family so I have experience in the process. Chastity would be able to increase her quality of life not only by going to work, but also being able to visit her three children. One lives in Austin and two in Houston. She would also be able to attend a refresher course for a medical office specialist, which is her desired profession. So if you are reading this, I hope you are motivated in your heart to give a little bit for Chastity and make a difference in one person's life. She is trying to do simple things we take for granted; like going to the grocery store and the laundromat on her own without walking in the heat of San Antonio or riding the bus for hours just to get anywhere. If you can’t give any now, I would appreciate you sharing this on your social media accounts for others to see. Thank you so much in advance for helping Chastity’s goal for a better life.
