On October 19, 2025, our dad, Chasong Yang, suffered an unexpected stroke that came with significant complications. Since that day, he has been hospitalized and working hard through therapy. We are grateful to share that he has made progress and was able to transition home on January 8. While this milestone brings hope, his recovery journey is far from over.
At home, our mom, Miva Yang, has taken on the role of his primary caregiver, with the support of our brother, Yeekeng. Although insurance will help cover some medical costs, there are many ongoing expenses it does not cover—such as transportation to follow-up appointments and therapy, daily care supplies (wipes, gloves, tissues, and more), food required for his special diet, and anticipated future surgeries.
Our parents have always lived lives centered on serving others. Through their church and community, they have consistently given their time, resources, and care to those in need. Our mom devoted 38 years as a public health nurse, while our dad served the community as the director of the Sheboygan Hmong Association for 30 years, coached soccer, and later worked at Forward Services helping others find meaningful employment before retiring.
Because of their generous and selfless nature, asking for help does not come easily to them. For this reason, we—their children—are humbly reaching out on their behalf to family, friends, and anyone willing to support them during this challenging season. Both of our parents retired last year, and this was not how they envisioned beginning this new chapter of their lives. Any support you are able to offer would help ease the financial burden and allow them to focus on our dad’s healing and recovery.
Thank you sincerely for your time, kindness, and consideration. If you are unable to contribute, we deeply appreciate your prayers for our dad and our family.
