My name is Chasity, and I’m reaching out for support during one of the hardest times in my life. For a while, I was working and living at a hotel in town, earning just enough to get by and a place to stay. I was also attending college online, using the hotel’s wifi and my own laptop, determined to build a better future for myself. Unfortunately, because I was paid in cash, I wasn’t able to get government help when things got tough. I lost my job and my home, not because of my work, but because of personal choices I made on my own time—choices that I believe should not have cost me my job. Suddenly, I found myself without a place to live, without wifi to continue my education, and without a way to get around.

Right now, I’m staying with my best friend, but I’m working hard to get back on my feet. Having a stable place to live would mean everything—it would give me the chance to find a job, continue my college education, and finally move forward. I’m also hoping to set aside a portion of what I raise for my friend’s daughter, Lucy. She’s an amazing ten-year-old who deserves the best, and I want to help her have a brighter future by starting a college fund for her.
