My name is Chasity, and I am a mother of three children, two of whom have special needs. For 16 years, I was in a domestic violence situation. When I was finally able to break free, I was left with four months of unpaid bills, including a car loan that I have been paying on since 2021. I have been doing everything I can to keep up, hoping that my tax refund would help me finally catch up. Unfortunately, the IRS is holding my refund for review, and I have no idea when or if those funds will be released.

I have always worked hard to provide for my children, but due to child care needs, I had to reduce my hours to part-time. My two special needs children require extra care and attention, and I want to give them the best life possible. Recently, my own health has taken a turn for the worse, and I am facing major surgery soon. The thought of not being able to work during my recovery is overwhelming, and the financial strain is growing every day. I am doing everything I can, but it feels like every time I take a step forward, something pushes me two steps back.
