Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

This past week, our lives were turned upside down while on our way to the Dayton's Farmers Market when a driver ran a stop sign and collided with our food truck, sending it down an embankment and totaling it. This truck was not just a vehicle; it was the embodiment of my husband Chase's dream and passion.

Smokin' Dads Food Truck was created by Chase and his father. Chase, a 27-year-old who quit his full-time job to pursue his love for cooking BBQ, has poured his heart and soul into this truck. Smokin' Dads was gaining success and growing faster than imagined. Our family has spent countless hours customizing it, making it truly one-of-a-kind. The value of this work goes beyond any monetary measure.

We are incredibly grateful that Chase walked away from the crash with only severe bruising and scrapes. Having him home safe is nothing short of a miracle. However, the road to getting back on our feet and rebuilding the truck is long and filled with hurdles. We are working thru our insurance carrier to have the responsible party compensate us for the damages and be able to buy a new to us truck and begin customization to get Chase on the road, but this process takes time and the other driver may not have enough coverage to replace the truck. If that is the case, an even longer litigation process has to happen. The longer we wait, the more bookings we have to turn away in the busiest part of our season.

The support from our community has been overwhelming. Many of you have asked how you can help, and we are humbled by your generosity. We have set up this GoFundMe page to raise funds to rebuild Chase's BBQ food truck and get him back to doing what he loves most and what he is meant to do.

Every donation, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to seeing Chase's dream back on the road. Thank you for your support, love, and generosity. Smokin' Dads BBQ cannot wait to serve our community again.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Chase's Family
