Help Chase Beat Testicular Cancer

Our world changed overnight.

On July 14th, my husband, Chase, underwent surgery to remove what doctors described as a golf ball-sized tumor from his testicle. We went into surgery hoping that would be the end of this chapter. Unfortunately, the pathology results brought devastating news.

Chase was diagnosed with embryonal carcinoma, an aggressive form of testicular cancer, with lymphovascular invasion, meaning the cancer had already entered his blood vessels and lymphatic system. Because of this, his risk of recurrence is significantly higher.

Just one week after surgery, his tumor markers had doubled. Less than a week later, they had climbed even higher, confirming that the cancer is still present and needs immediate treatment.

Chase will now undergo three cycles of chemotherapy at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. Next Thursday we will meet with his oncology team to learn when treatment begins, but we know our family will need to temporarily relocate to Tampa for approximately three months so he can receive the care he needs.

We are a family of four—my husband Chase, myself (Jasey), our sweet 3-year-old son, Levi, and our 3-month-old baby, Jace. Because we have two young children, we unfortunately do not qualify for Hope Lodge, leaving us responsible for finding temporary housing. The cost of renting a place near Moffitt is estimated to be around $9,000 for three months, not including gas, food, parking, medical expenses, and the countless trips back and forth.

Asking for help is incredibly difficult, but right now our focus needs to be on helping Chase fight this cancer and keeping our family together during treatment.
