As some of you know my Grand daughter Charlotte has been in the hospital for a few days now. Out of nowhere she started going into Liver failure. The doctors still have no idea why! Her liver enzymes started to improve mildly and she was able to be removed from the transplant list. She is also having issues with her blood clotting. The most serious issue we are dealing with no is her glucose. She is on an IV 24/7 pumping sugar into her body. Without this her body can not maintain a healthy sugar level. Every time they try to remove the IV to see what happens her levels drop to lethal levels and this happens with in minutes! She was transported to Children's hospital in Portland. It is about 2 hours from where we all live. This is putting a tremendous hardship on Kayla and her partner Eric. They both understandably want to be with their daughter which is taking them out of work. Not to mention the medical bills that are surly to follow.... If you are able and can find it in your heart to help them out during this devastating time I would be so grateful. As you know we just lost my Mom... hours before Charlotte was taken to the hospital after the initial 911 call. We are all exhausted, stressed, and at our whits end. I will try my best to do updates on Facebook to let you know how she is doing. Yesterday she had a central line put in that goes directly to her heart because they are having such a hard time keeping a viable IV. Today she is going in for a liver biopsy to see if we can get more answers.
