Help Charlotte fight corruption in Chesterfield Co

My name is Charlotte Carter. Im a single mother to 3 beautiful children. 2 boys ages 15 and 12, and a girl aged 6. I graduated from nursing school in 2009… and have spent every year since then advocating and caring for my patients. I’m also a certified dementia practitioner and love educating people and families on how to cope with and better communicate with those who are affected with this difficult diagnosis.
I have always been the “helper” to others. I have a very difficult time asking others for help, I always have. With encouragement from a few friends I’ve mustered up the courage to do, just that.
In march of 2022 I publicly advocated for a child who came to me for help, claiming his parents had been abusing him. I found several instances where police had reported to this child’s home and had not made police reports or called CPS as mandated reporters, among other negligent acts. I’m happy to report I helped successfully get this child out of what he claimed to be an abusive home and into a safe one.
Starting April 11th I began getting falsely arrested (by the same police department i had publicly criticized for their handling of child abuse calls) for things such as trespassing- on property i leased and then again as owner of the same property. I went from 0 criminal history to 10 charges in less than 2 months.
The chesterfield county police department has been harassing and falsely arresting me for months now, costing me thousands in legal fees. I have been working 60-80 hours a week to try and keep up with costs. It’s taking a serious toll on myself and on my family. Every time I think it’s over and I can move forward with the lawsuit, which would be on a contingency fee basis, I am notified of new charges.
I’ve tried calling the Attorney General, the Governor, the FBI, The state police, the DOJ, the states attorney for the DOJ, congressmen, the public safety office for the state, any and everyone I could possibly think of, I have called. Nobody will listen, nobody seems to care.
So now I’m coming to the public, to tuck my pride and ask for financial assistance to continue to fight public corruption and false criminal charges. These charges not only affect me financially, they affect my reputation, my family, and my ability to continue working as a nurse. Thank you in advance for any assistance you all are able to provide.
