Our beautifully caring and compassionate friend / older sister Charlize Devina has become victim to a life-changing incident in which she was hit by a car while crossing the street.
In her teen years, she struggled deeply with mental health issues due to being homeless off and on for 3 years as both of her parents abandoned her. Through hard work and dedication, she completed high school, got her own place to live, and worked 50 hours a week.
At just the age of 18, she bravely became the sole caregiver of her younger sister after enduring many years of child neglect and abuse. Since then, her journey toward healing and following her passions has undoubtedly inspired and touched the people around her.
Unfortunately, due to this traumatic event- Charlize is facing a series of long-term medical, mental, and financial damages which she doesn’t deserve. These damages include a serious head injury due to trauma, long-term knee pain, lip laceration/split, fracture of her left tibial plateau, and fracture of her right proximal fibula. Amongst her minor injuries are 2 elbow abrasions, a cheek abrasion, a knee abrasion, a toe abrasion, 2 hand abrasion, and 2 back abrasions. Charlize will not be able to walk for over 3 months and needs intense physical therapy to be able to walk the same again.
Her condition has left her unable to work or drive, therefore unable to provide for herself and her sister. Charlize’s medical recovery has left her with detrimentally expensive costs which she cannot afford due to her physical state. She will need to pay regular bills including, rent, car payment, insurance, groceries, toiletries, and gas (for the next 3 months). On top of hospital bills, medication, and medical equipment to help her recover.
Charlize is a kind-hearted soul who purely pours love and empathy into her loved ones & even just people passing by. It would mean the world to our family if we could return that genuine kindness back to her. We love our sister and wish to encourage her through this difficult time. Her resilience is beautiful for anyone whose watching. We thank you for any help toward her healing and appreciate all support.
