Help Charlie's family with their devastating loss
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Angie McCulloch, and I created this gofundme site to help my aunt Julie...
On Saturday, January 15th, Julie's 32-year-old son Charlie suddenly & unexpectedly passed away. Charlie was a single dad of 3 boys (Dominic, Wesley & Julian) and a foster dad of 3 more boys (brothers, Damin, Ryder & TJ). To say that he loved kids would be putting it lightly. Charlie was a big kid himself, who had a fun-loving personality & always had a smile on his face. He loved life! You could often find Charlie wrestling with the kids, cooking and grilling the meats that he loved, teaching the boys all the different sports they enjoyed, cheering for them at their games, bug hunting in the backyard woods, or camping & fishing with his boys. Charlie indeed had a special gift, and he shared it with his boys every day. The patience he showed was remarkable. His boys adored him. They were his world. The heartbreak they are going through is unbearable.
Charlie was forced to quit his job during Covid to homeschool his kids due to school closures, distant learning, and childcare costs. With that came financial struggles. His Mom Julie helped out as much as she could. Recently, Charlie was able to get back to work with the USPS. He was very excited about this and looking forward to his new career.
Unfortunately, this is not the first devastating blow that Julie has taken in the last year. In August, Julie watched her husband Kendall lose his year and a half battle with cancer. That was after she buried her first husband, Ken, Charlie's father, in 2015. In October of 2021, Julie was diagnosed with lung cancer and underwent an extremely invasive surgery putting her out of work for weeks. So to say the financial burdens have built up would be an understatement. Julie would never ask for help. She's the person that is always there, willing to help everyone else, never complaining and putting herself last. It breaks my heart to watch her go through so much loss and heartbreak, especially in such a short period of time. In true Julie form, she will continue to be the pillar of strength for all of her grandsons no matter what it takes.
I wanted to take this opportunity to help Julie because I know she won't ask for it herself. The unexpected costs for the funeral, the existing debt that has built up during covid, and the mounting medical expenses that exist from her recent diagnoses/medical procedures, all on top of the grief she carries, are just so much for a person to carry.
With all that being said, I ask for prayers for Julie, Charlie's boys & Charlie's brothers, Skylar & Layne. They need the power of prayer during this challenging time. If you feel compelled to contribute financially, I know Julie will be forever grateful, and I assure you, it's going to a beautiful family.
Thank you for your thoughts, prayers & contributions.
