My name is Jose, and I'm creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my best friend Charlie Visessmith's family, at their request.

For the past four years, Charlie continued to battle kidney failure. During difficult days, he always showed strength and resilience to fight hard through his quest, while also keeping his love of anime, the Japanese rock group Baby Metal, and his many friendships at the forefront.

He was so good at leveling up, being laid-back, cracking a joke or even smiling through it all, that you wouldn't know that he was in such a difficult battle.

Unfortunately, Charlie passed away on October 5th, 2025, but like his favorite video game characters, he's got unlimited continues and his fight carries on beyond any levels we can see!

His family is looking to have a traditional Thai ceremony (date TBA), and they need help with the costs. Though it is a time of grief, a Thai funeral often carries an undertone of serenity and acceptance, reflecting Buddhist teaching that life and death are natural cycles.
