In loving memory of Charlie

Update Weds 8th July: It's with a heavy heart I share that Charlie sadly passed away on Saturday 5th July, surrounded by love at Chestnut Tree House Hospice.

My thoughts at this time are with Charlie's mum Ange, and her big sister Polly, who have suffered through more in the last 5 years since Charlie's diagnosis than most people will know in a lifetime.

With this in mind, I wanted to re-open the fundraiser for Ange, to try and reduce some of the financial burden that comes with losing a child, and hopefully for Ange and Polly to take a little holiday together somewhere peaceful.

If you are able, please consider donating, or sharing ❤️

Hi, I'm Kat, and as the mum of a child who has fought cancer, I have had the privilege of meeting many other parents who are on the same journey.

One of these families is 8 year old Charlie, her mum Ange and sister Polly - diagnosed with high risk neuroblastoma in 2020 aged just 4, Charlie completed treatment but has now once again been battling cancer since her disease returned (relapsed) in 2023.

This has meant huge amounts of time spent between their local children's hospital in Brighton, and their treatment hospital in London. Since relapsing, Charlie has endured multiple therapies as part of different clinical trials, including harsh chemos, immunotherapies, radioactive isotopes and more, pivoting to something new whenever her disease has stopped responding.

Sadly, her family has recently found out that Charlie's disease is once again progressing, and they need support more than ever as they work out what their next steps look like.

Anyone who has been close to this world will see how childhood cancer financially devastates families as all normal life goes on pause to support their sick child. Costs rise exponentially with long hospital stays and travel, income dwindles, and spending time together doing things your child enjoys becomes your number one priority.

I would love to be able to raise a little bit of money to help support Charlie's family at this incredibly difficult time. All funds will go to Charlie's mum Ange to help reduce their financial worries, and enable them to focus on being together.
