Hi, my name is Charlie and I’m a much-loved little dog who just wants to run, play, and enjoy life pain-free.
Charlie has luxating patellas in both of his back knees, a painful condition where the kneecaps slip out of place. He has already bravely been through surgery on his right knee, which successfully corrected the bone alignment. Unfortunately, during his post-operative checks, the vets discovered that the supporting ligaments in his legs are damaged, meaning his knees are still unstable.
Charlie now needs further surgery to repair the damaged ligaments and to correct the luxating patella in his left knee. Without this treatment, he risks ongoing pain, reduced mobility, and early arthritis.
We have been advised that the total cost of the remaining surgery, imaging, medication, and recovery care will be around £4,000. This is a huge amount for us, but it is the best chance Charlie has to live a comfortable, happy life.
Every donation — no matter how small — will go directly towards:
• Orthopaedic surgery for Charlie’s left knee
• Ligament stabilisation
• Pain relief, medication, and follow-up care
• Physiotherapy to help him recover properly
If you’re unable to donate, sharing Charlie’s story would mean just as much.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for helping Charlie on his journey to recovery.
