This is Charlie — a bright, loving 7-year-old pup who has only ever known one family since the day he came home as a tiny baby. He’s grown up surrounded by love, long walks, tail wags, and the joy of greeting every person and dog he ever met. Charlie has always been the kind of dog who radiates happiness — the kind who makes strangers smile, who wiggles with excitement when someone walks through the door, who believes every day is a good day.

But recently, everything changed.

A sudden knee dislocation has left Charlie unable to walk. His favourite part of life — running outside, meeting friends, feeling the grass under his paws — has been taken away from him. It’s been weeks since he’s gone on a walk. Instead of rushing to the door to greet his family, he now lies still, letting out only a soft, shallow bark — even that seems painful for him.

Since the injury, Charlie has lost nearly half his weight. He’s depressed, barely eating, and it breaks his family’s heart to watch him fade like this.

His parents have already spent $2,000 on vet visits and urgent care trying to help him. The surgery that could restore his mobility — and bring back the joyful, energetic dog they know — will cost $4,200, which they simply cannot manage on their own.
