Charlie Walkerdine, 13, has Auto Immune Hepatitis, we want to build him a shed in the garden where he can use a golf simulator, so we are appealing for materials and the equipment needed for the golf simulator.
Charlie, from Lichfield, was diagnosed in 2015 with AIH, a disease of the liver which sees his immune system attack the organ as if it is a foreign object.
The steroids he takes to try to prolong the function of his liver have side effects including Brittle Bone Disease and due to his lowered immune system Charlie finds it more difficult than most people to fight off infection.
charlie never complains and has been in for nearly a year, we want to be able to give him a bit of freedom and his own space to enjoy the one thing he loves . This is a lifelong condition, COVID-19 has made life even more difficult for Charlie but even when we have overcome covid, Charlie will always be susceptible to infections so he is mainly at home anyway to protect himself. This will give him a little bit of freedom and independence for many years to come. If you can help in some small way it would make a big difference to Charlie's life.
Thank you ❤️❤️
