Late Wednesday night, Tim and I found a small orange kitty who had been hit by a car—whoever hit her left her for dead—in the middle of our road. She was scared and injured, but when Tim picked her up, she melted into his arms and stayed with us through the night. We took her to Pleasant Lake Veterinary Hospital, where the team ran X-rays and tests. Thankfully, she had no broken bones or internal injuries, but she had suffered a severe tongue injury that required surgery. The vet was able to suture her tongue, but there’s a 50/50 chance of her surviving because her ability to eat and drink depends on whether her tongue heals enough for her to nourish and hydrate herself.

We named her Charlie, and from the moment she let us hold her, we knew she was meant to be part of our family. The vet confirmed she wasn’t microchipped, so we welcomed her into our home. Charlie is incredibly sweet, loves affection, and deserves a safe and loving home, life, and family. She still needs follow-up visits, medication, and special food as she recovers from her surgery. Tim and I are committed to giving her the best care possible, but the unexpected vet bills are a challenge. Any support will help us cover her medical expenses and give Charlie the happy, healthy life she deserves.
