Help Charlie Survive Rattlesnake Bite
Donation protected
This is one of our dogs CHARLIE. We have had him for a little over 1 yr now and he was a rescue dog. Charlie and our other dog Flash became best friends from when they first met, no warming up period needed.
Lastnight Charlie got bit by a rattlesnake in our back yard above his right eye. They say on animals, that is the best place to get bit but as you can see it has done damage to his eye. The vet said he will probably need 1-3 shots of anti-venom to survive and it will probably be more likely 3. They are even more worried about him losing his eye due to all the necrotic (rotting) tissue surrounding his eye and infection from the wound. So, they have admitted him for IV antibiotics and pain meds and beginning the anti venom. Each dose alone of just the anti venom is super expensive. They don't know how independent all the wound care will be. He won't even let anyone near the wound as of right now because it is too painful.
If he makes it past all the swelling that travels to his neck and chest it will be a long recovery and many vet visits.
If you can help out in any way we would greatly appreciate it, Flash most of all because that is his partner in crime...lol
Thank you very much.
