In 2021, my mom and I were so excited to bring Charlie home as a family dog. After she unexpectedly passed away that summer, I took full responsibility for him. Charlie just turned 5 in March. In January this year, I found a tumor on Charlie's leg. After a fine needle aspiration, our vet diagnosed it as a mass cell tumor and referred us to a specialist because of the location. We went to the Veterinary Specialty Center, where Charlie had surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery team then referred us to oncology for radiation, which Charlie completed 15 days in February and March. He developed a rash from the treatment but has since recovered. At his two-week post-radiation checkup, his bloodwork looked good and the oncologist had no concerns. However, just two days later, Charlie became very sick and had to be rushed to the ER for vomiting. After more bloodwork and an ultrasound that came back normal, he’s doing okay. So far everything has cost about $15,000.
The funds from this fundraiser will help cover his ongoing and past vet bills, including surgery, radiation, emergency visits, and follow-up care. Your support will allow me to focus on Charlie’s recovery without the added stress of financial strain. I’m not usually someone who asks for help, and I put off making this for a long time, cutting other financial areas and trying to earn extra income. So again, thank you so much for just reading and sharing.
Thank you for your support—it truly means so much to me and Charlie. Every donation, share, and kind word helps us keep fighting for his health and happiness.
