Charlie’s Recovery Fund
On January 7, Charlie was the victim of a hit-and-run accident. In the heavy hours following the crash, as we faced the reality of his injuries, we were uncertain of the outcome and considered euthanasia. It was heartbreaking, but Charlie is only 5 years old and full of life and love. We knew he had many good years left to live if we could get him through this.
We decided to pursue his medical care, knowing the costs would be exorbitant, but the chance to keep him in our lives is truly priceless.
The Medical Reality -
The initial emergency care, from 48 hours to stabilize Charlie and manage the uncertainty of his future health, cost $4,400.
Charlie requires two significant surgeries to address his injuries:
Oral Surgery ($2,200): This involved wiring his fractured jaw. This surgery was critical to fuse the fracture and align his jaw to allow him to eat. This procedure was completed on January 19.
Orthopedic Surgery ($8,000–$12,000): A complex procedure to repair a severe ankle injury so he can walk again and run again. This surgery is pending his recovery from his oral surgery.
Our Request. Between the life-saving emergency care and these necessary surgeries, the financial bridge to get Charlie healthy is over $15,000.
Charlie is incredibly resilient, and we are doing everything possible to get him back on his paws. We are reaching out to our community for any help you can provide—whether it is a donation toward his medical care or simply sharing this page. Thank you for being part of Charlie’s journey back to health.
We will keep everyone updated as he moves through his surgeries and starts his recovery.
