Help Charlie Overcome Cancer for a Happy Life
Donation protected
My name is Gaston, my dog’s name is Charlie.
I’ve had Charlie for almost nine years now, and he’s been the best friend I could’ve asked for. When I rescued Charlie, he was a mess. Having been used as a bait dog in a fighting ring, his teeth were filed down and he had gunshot wounds and infections so bad he couldn’t shake his head without whimpering.
We ended up getting help from a few amazing vets and bringing him to a level of health he deserved the whole time.
Shortly after, we discovered a cancerous growth on his leg and had it removed. He’s lived a very healthy and happy life since then, but the remnants of the cancer remain.
Around six months ago, his leg got infected and we had to take him back to see his friends at the veterinary office and they found a cancerous growth in a tricky spot on his rear leg.
Since then, he’s been taking chemotherapy because the only other option was a procedure that was too expensive for me to afford.
The chemo has absolutely wrecked him, from bloody stool to lesions popping up and bursting all over his body to general fatigue, weight loss, loss of strength and balance.
Speaking with his vet, we’ve decided to go through the route of the more expensive treatment and to stop the chemotherapy.
It pains me greatly to not be able to give my friend happiness and health for his last years in this life, and that’s why I am asking for help. The procedure will cost us around $2000, in addition to the $2000 I’ve already gone into credit card debt.
I do not expect anything from anyone here, but I want to open up the availability to help me help Charlie. If Charlie has made you smile, came up to you when you were sad, or just brightened your day by being the lovable oaf he is, please consider donating to his fund.
