I’m Mandy Paris! My brother is Charlie Keller, an adult autistic man who is nonverbal and has developmental disabilities. Charlie was recently approved to moved out of his group home and into his very own house with his own consistent staff! He will receive a monthly stipend to support his living situation, but the stipend doesn’t begin until October!
Charlie requires consistency and continuity of care, which is difficult to achieve in a group home setting with rotating staff.
Moving into his own house does require some upfront costs to ensure a smooth transition, but Charlie (& our family) are unable to afford these costs, which include, but are not limited to:
