Our family is going through something we never imagined, and it’s been both emotionally and financially overwhelming. Recently, our dog Charlie was brutally attacked by a pitbull. The attack was severe—the dog bit down and held onto Charlie for nearly two minutes. It took everything we had to finally separate them. Watching this happen was absolutely horrifying and something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
Charlie suffered serious injuries and had to undergo extensive emergency surgery to save his life. He is currently recovering, but the road ahead is still uncertain. In the process of trying to save him, I was also bitten. What initially seemed manageable quickly turned into something more serious. My hand became swollen, painful, and infected, leading me to seek emergency care at the ER. I am now dealing with the physical pain and recovery from that injury as well.
What’s been especially difficult is that the dog’s owner showed no remorse. She attempted to walk away from the scene without saying a word or exchanging any information—I had to run after her myself. Since then, she has been unresponsive and unwilling to take responsibility. We are now left covering unexpected and overwhelming expenses, including Charlie’s emergency surgery and my medical bills. On top of this, my husband lost his job in October, which has already placed financial strain on our family.
I truly hate asking for help, but right now we need it. If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to us and help relieve some of the burden during this incredibly difficult time. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page would also help more than you know. Thank you for your kindness, support, and for helping Charlie on his road to recovery.
